PRESENTED BY ATHENA ALLIANCE: Black Women in the Workplace
JULY 19, 2024 | 12PM - 1PM | VIRTUAL EVENT
Black women in the workplace face unique challenges influenced by the intersection of race and gender. They often experience higher levels of microagressions, discrimination and bias which can impact their career advancement, wage parity and create a block to bringing their full spectrum of gifts and expertise to the table. Statistics bear this out: black women are leaving corporate ranks in numbers that outpace their white counterparts, creating talent gaps across industries and handicapping growth and innovation. In this salon, leadership experts and facilitators of Athena’s Black Women Thriving peer group Julianna Hynes and Maeve Richard, will discuss the dynamics that impact retention rates and what leaders at all levels can do to support a strong, thriving team anchored in inclusion and belonging.
