Report, published by the University of Tampa in collaboration with women’s leadership organizations, analyzes gender diversity on corporate boards in Florida. It provides insights into the representation of women on the boards of public companies listed in the Russell 3000 Index, comparing Florida’s progress to national trends and highlighting areas for improvement in gender equity at the board level.

The 2014 Florida Census of Women Directors and Executive Officers reveals that women held 11.8% of board seats and 8.0% of executive positions in Florida’s top 100 public companies, showing gradual progress but highlighting a significant gender gap, with 71.4% of companies having no women executives. Larger companies tended to have more women in leadership, and Central Florida led the state in board diversity. Women Executive Leadership (WEL) continues to advocate for change through mentorship programs and corporate partnerships to increase female representation in boardrooms and executive suites

Women held 15.7% of board seats, up from 11.8% in 2014, and 8.9% of executive positions, showing slow but positive momentum. WEL continues to advocate for increased female representation through mentorship, partnerships, and collaboration with organizations like 2020 Women on Boards to drive further progress in corporate leadership.

The 2022 Florida Census of Women Directors and Executive Officers, conducted by Women Executive Leadership (WEL), highlights significant progress in gender diversity within Florida’s top 100 public companies. Women now hold 24% of board seats, a notable increase from 15.7% in 2017, though women remain underrepresented in executive roles, holding 12% of executive positions. WEL continues its mission to advocate, educate, and connect women leaders, recognizing companies that have increased female representation while encouraging further progress in corporate leadership.
